JVO Fogg was flying aboard Short Stirling Q for Queenie (based in RAF Downham Market) on 1st-2nd September with Tom Campbell (RAF Vol Reserve - radio operator), Frank Birch(RAF Vol Reserve), George Reid(RNZAF), Keith Ryan(RNZAF) Stanley Wills(RAF Vol Reserve) and Ted Ruegg (RNZAF - pilot)
Their plane was shot down. Tom, Frank, George, Keith and Stanley didn’t survive and are buried in Nossegem, Belgium. Their graves are listed with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Tom Campbell was my Mum’s cousin.
Ted Ruegg and JVO Fogg survived, were captured and held as Prisoners of War. A few years ago I made contact with Ted Ruegg’s son. His father didn’t talk much about his experienced during the war.
I’be never been able to trace what happened to JVO Fogg and the only thing I’ve found while searching was a reference to the Wirral & District Amateur Radio Club.
Does anyone know who JVO Fogg is or what happened to him.
