Prisoner of war camp on Badgers Rake Lane

A friend told me recently that there used to be a prisoner of war camp on Badgers Rake Lane.I've been trying to find out more about it and would be grateful if anyone on here can tell me something about it.The Badgers Rake Lane I'm referring to is the one that runs between the A540 and the Welsh Road.

I posted this query on WikiWirral and have had some helpful answers, which is more than I've had on here.It would have been nice to have had some sort of response, even if it was only to say sorry, can't help you.

Hi nestonlad :)
You're probably right about that but I still feel that it would have been nice to have had some sort of response on here.

In the 1950s, I seem to remember someone telling me about prisoners-of - war in that area. I was living in Welsh Road at the time but don't have any details.  Perhaps it was kept a secret?  Sorry I can't be of more help.  Muffin
