The Chester hotel(AKA the chester arms) was at the bottom of station road in parkgate on the site of the old quay car park.I think it was demolished in the sixties to make way for the old quay. The hotel can be seen at the back of the old hand carts on the left hand side in the photo i have attached. The photo was taken in april 1923 by an amateur photographer from liverpool called mr G Drysdale
If my memory serves me correctly there was another pub called The Old Quay right next to the sea wall beyond the Chester, which disappered at the same time. Looked like a two up / two down cottage. Or am I thinking about the same place ? Maybe the end wall is visible at the back. The wall with the chimney.
