New Brighton Baths

I loved going to New Brighton when I was a kid. So much to see and do on the Prom. My Brother and I used to sail our boats on the boating lake there. My Dad- a seaman- made us a yacht-toy ones!- each. Mine had red sails and was called The Ruby. We also went to the Baths for a paddle. Does anyone remember having to wade though a body of water-to wash our feet we thought- before being allowed into the baths proper? I remember hating my wooly very scratchy swimming costume. My husband and I were there during the big storm a few years ago when everything on the prom was swept into the Mersey. Even the tourist place we had been to a few days earlier! It was a sight to see.
