I have been researching my family history for over 10 years. The only one I have trouble with is my Great Grand Father William James Fletcher the 1st He was supposed to be married to Alice Hannah Austin of Manchester. They had a son in 1875 and named him William James Fletcher. On the birth cert the Father's occupation was stated as Commercial traveller. That is where my knowledge of him hits a brick wall. Mother and son lived with her half sister and her Husband John Massey in Rock Ferry or Tranmere and owned a fish shop there. They had their own fishing boats. When he grew older young William James was apprenticed Fisherman to his uncle John. i have all the info I need on the rest of the family but William James Fletcher the 1st remains a mystery. Does anyone have any info that could be helpful?
