The Magnet - 1950 film

For all the lovers of The Wirral in days gone by this really is a must. Filmed on location in New Brighton and parts of Liverpool it gives a vivid picture of what it was like. The story is a bit creaky but enjoyable. I believe its available on DVD.

Shame they did'nt use local accents either all major characters had BBC voices!! Fun to watch though. Another good film was Ferry 'crross the Mersey, shows the old Birkenhead market, Jess
