Hello - Not sure if this is the correct place for this. If not I apologise. I am a crime fiction author and most of my books are based in the north of England. My current series is centred around Liverpool. The book I am writing at the moment has the detectives investigating a couple of murders and the case has taken them to The Wirral and specifically one event which happens at Raby Mere. I like to include as much detail as possible in the work to give it depth. My victim has fallen into the waterway which feeds into the lake and my research has been somewhat confusing. I would be so very grateful if anyone could answer a couple of questions.
1. I have seen references to the woods and am not sure if they have names - My detectives are parked in Blakely Road - the large woodland on the left (facing north) is where my suspect has fled. Does that woodland have a name.
2. A body is found in the waterway leading into the mere. I thought I saw that was called Wirral Stream but have been unable to find that reference again. I did find the name Clatter Brook but assume that is a small stream (lovely name though) so What is the name of the main waterway feeding the mere -the one with the bridge across.
I would be very grateful for any help at all because I am unable to visit the area at the moment and anyway local knowledge is always so much better.
