Found this photo on Google, absolutely love it!In approximately 1961 I remember going there as a child, there was a partition which divided the inside into two classrooms. There used to be a piano after you entered the main door on the right. My class was on the left of the partition and the other class was on the right and there was a canteen for school dinners in there too. There was the playground at the back of the building with a wire fence:I used to look out onto the tennis courts and park, the view was great there was also a stream on the other side of the fence with all kinds of wildlife there and I remember a regular visitor was the kingfisher bird.I had left Ness Holt School to go to this School and after Bushell Road I then went onto Burton Road School in Neston.Such happy days!
That's now used as the Masonic hall. I've attached a link to an article on the first world war and it has a very old picture of Burton road school. I used to go there in the early seventies
I remember Bushell Rd School very well. I first started infants' school at Salem Hall, on Burton Rd. We were then transferred to Bushell Rd, before going on to "the big school" - the Council School, on Burton Rd. Bushell Rd was also where we held Cub meetings - wow, I'd forgotten that!
