Some of you will not of heard about me before and that I will not hold that against you !!!
I am writting this letter to you as I feel rather let down by the Council and to a certain point the way history is portrayed.
Some of you will of been born in Bebington, Lower Bebington or indeed Higher bebington.
My family were the Ellisons and the Howards, some of you will be scratching your heads and thinking to yourselves I remember that name !
My Grandmother was Doris Ellison who became a Han****, who were farmers while her Mother my Great Grandmother were the Howards who had the Farm at Higher Bebington and indeed the Windmill where he ground the Corn.
They all lived at Bebington Hall and are all buried at Christchurch Higher Bebington.
During the War a Bomb landed in the grounds of the Hall which then caused a crack down the building near to the Conservatory, which ended up in parts of the Hall not being able to be used.
It was during this time that my grandmother and other members of my family saw the Tunnel for the first time and people came and had a look at it.
I never know why it has been kept such a secret.
The top floor of the Hall was known as the Apple Room where my Great Grandfather used to keep his Apples from his Orchards.
According to the (History of bebington) the Hall was demolished in the 1950's which I want to put straight as my family were still living in the Hall up to it being demolished.
The hall was demolished in the Summer of 1965, and had gone in 1966.
The Hall was not where the Library is but to the right of Civic Way, which means in theory that their was no reason to demolish this very old Hall which had foundations going back much further that the 18th century.
I don't know what happenned to the 13-14th century stone which was found from its foundations but what I do know is that it upset the family very much when it was demolished and I find it sad that their is no record on the site or a picture of it ever existing which I hope will be put right.
I hope that is anyone has any pictures of the Old Hall that you would kindly put them on here and it would be nice for people to share any thing that they have on the Old Hall.
I personally look forward to the Concrete block which sits their to be demolished and would like to be the person to press the button !

Hi all!
I know this is an old thread but trying to find some very old photos of the trees, mostly the big beech by the houses and stories if anyone remembers it when they were young. Maybe they have a name for it or any interesting stories regarding it? Also is the photo above really the Old hall- I don't think those trees are the beech or still there but am I wrong??
