Im currently trying to find out any information about my mothers Aunt, who died on 18th Feb 1947 and has a listing on the war graves site. There is no further information that I can find as to how she died etc and we'd be very interested to hear this story. Unfortunatly we are not in contact with any possible living relatives, tho im making progress there very slowly!
So it would be great to hear from anyone that may have any further clues to the story.
Hello Optimystic, I don't know if this will be any use to you, I used to live at 202 Old Chester Rd. and two doors away was a path leading away at right-angles to O.C.R, it was called Lever Terrace and the first house was occupied by Mary Highton and hubby. But when I was a kid another lady lived there she was also a Highton...but blowed if I can remember her first name, Megan seems kinda familiar but then I am going back to 1950ish, this lady was a nurse because she was the nursing sister at the "Mariners Homes" which was on the banks of the R.Mersey at Egremont.
Obviuosly cannot be the same person you mention that died 1947, but may be some relationship somewhere along the line. Afraid I don't know whether Mary Highton or hubby still alive or where the children are now, and the house is now demolished. Warren
