Another bit of totally useless but interesting bit of information.Did you know that the clock on the church at burton only has one hand.I've attached a couple of photos,if you zoom in on the tower you can see the one handed clock

If its the farm I am thinking about im sure when I was younger everyone called it Dunstan pig farm, the fellow there now breeds game birds, I used to go clay pigeon shooting a few fields over in Puddington, I've put a link below to a newish site with some good stories about Neston's history
Hello,Just managed to get in site.It was Dunstan Farm top of Dunstan Lane on left hand side.Opposite was Fiddlestone Wood belonged to Lobitus Oil Co the Burma Oil where my wife lived.We did not have pigs just cows and sheep and arable land.Some land was on the marshes.
I did not stay farming but joined Cheshire Police in 1958 and I transferred to Northants Police retired after 30 years.I am in my eighties.Going back to Ness Holt.My Mother was a Supply Teacher and taught at Ness Holt,Burton Road School,and Nursery School Salem Hall.
My friend was Michael Roberts his father had a Poultry Farm on School Lane.Pikes the Butcher and I believe Evan Shoes lived just along the road.
I can remember going to School at Ness Holt not very old and all the windows had been blown out of the terraced houses at the top of Bulls Hill.A bomb had landed in one of the gardens of the two big houses opposite. I.have not viewed the photo of Ness Holt School,my sister would be interested she lives in Heswall..Derek
My Granddad lived in the first of those houses at the top of bull hill his was one of the ones that had the windows blown out. He fixed them all as he was a carpenter by trade. His name was Robert Williams and the family that lived in the big house across the road were called the Stewarts.
Thank you for that very interesting.I was very friendly with a family called Roberts. They lived in the first bungalow on the left along School Lane from Woodfall Lane.The Poultry Farm was opposite and backed on to the two big houses top of Bull Hill.
Where my wife lived in Burton there was a gardener named Jellecoe,he was involved in a tragic accident I believe at the bottom of Bull Hill,riding his motorcycle. Also I believe the land of the Poultry Farm came down to the Church at top of Marshlands Road.
