Moreton was one end of the world's first commercial hovercraft service to Rhyl. I went on the very first. I think it was a SRN-1. Does anyone have any info or photos etc of it. I can't remember the exact date early 60's I think.

Thank you very much - it's nostaglia time !!
So it was a Vickers and not a SRN-1. A trip on this was one of my 18th birthday presents, I don't think it was actually to the day as it was not the most reliable of machines and crossings were quite often cancelled. I can recall some friends being stranded in Rhyl and having to come home by train !!
Another first for The Wirral.

I remember standing and watching the first one going off I couldn't get my parents to pay for me to go on it I was still at school
