Hello Ruby, i'm glad that you are a local and hope you can help me. I was a resident at Saint Edmund's on Heath road between 1957 and 1960. During that time i attended Saint John's secondary school Below is a list of names of pupils that were in a photograph taken in the summer of 1959 of form 3a. The actual photo which i wasn't able to insert here can be viewed on "Friends United" or on my Face book page "Peter Durkin"
I know that Bernard Starkey became an international badminton player reprsenting the England deaf team and Raymond Noone studied the piano and became a music teacher
All of us are now in our sixty seventh year soon to be our sixty eighth.
I would be grateful if you could find any information or put me in touch with any of them
Thank you for contacting me Peterdurkin but I'm afraid I can't be of much help. I was born and brought up in Bromborough and none of the names you mentioned rings a bell. I attended Woodslee School and left there in 1948. Being considerably older than you and your school friends. I celebrate my 80th birthday next month!! Wishing you success in your quest. Kind regards. rubyfletcher.
Thank you for your response. I remember visiting Bromborough when I was a lot younger. Famous for it's cross I believe. My wife's birthday is next month as well. Enjoy yours and let me wish you a very happy birthday to come Kindest regards. Peter Durkin
I just registered today and saw your post. Not much info I'm afraid but a little. The Shipmans lived next door to us at 75 Bebington Rd, Port Sunlight. Mr Shipman was a driving instructor I think. They had 2 kids, Barbara and Steven. I am too young to remember Barbara living at home but I saw her often and her 2 kids, whose names I can't remember. She became a hairdresser and operated a her salon from home, I think it was School Lane in Bebington. I used to go there with my Mum, mid ish 60's.
