Wirral turnpikes

Hello I am a new user and am an MA student in local history I am gathering primary source material relating to the Wirral turnpikes between Chester and Parkgate and Chester and Birkenhead, any maps photographs of toll gates or toll houses or information on toll gate owners, any help much appreciated.

Perhaps you have read "The Turnpikes of Wirral" - a paper from Journal 2 of NWSIAH 1972 - by Geoff Dodd ?
Additionally I have recently discovered an interesting stone milestone hidden away in a wood with "WOODSIDE FERRY 8 MILES" inscribed - looks like a stone from the 1787 Neston to Woodside Turnpike but actually 5.5 modern miles from Woodside! - I'm on Hwfa.jones@google.com if you are still looking for information - Best wishes

Recently found 7 more Turnpike Milestones at a single location in Parkgate - I can't seem to stop bumping into these stones!
