I recently discovered that my great great grandfather john sherlock was a coxswain at hoylake RNLI from 1919-1929. I am trying to trace any family he has.

Hi John Sherlock was quite a common name on the Wirral, especially in Birkenhead. Do you have anymore onfo about his family and I can check with all our Sherlocks, (we have hundreds of 'em!). Regards Jesssmile

The only information I have is my Nanas name which is Audrey Garbett nee Roberts was also known by Audrey Healey who moved to manchester. I've been told there are still members of the family still involved with the RNLI in hoylake & I have a great aunt who is 100+ years old in a nursing home in the area. Unfortunately that's all I know.

Vinny, I too am a SHERLOCK descendant, your ancestor Emily Amelia SHERLOCK (b1895 Hoose) being my fourth cousin once removed. Meaning that you and I are distantly blood-related?
