RAF WEST KIRBY

Permalink

I am undertaking some research for a friend and I would like to know the answer to two questions;

When were the Married Quarters at RAF West Kirby built ?
(They are still standing, I know)

Who was the contractor who built them ?

I appreciate that these may be tough questions but I am sure that there will be someone out there who knows the answer.

Hello Aaron

A very rough guess but the whole of the estate between Grange and Newton along Frankby Road and Ennisdale Drive (with Ennisdale Drive complete by March 1958) was developed 1957-1958. I think the married quarters date from the same time. The contractor for the whole estate was William Farrell (w.j Farrell / Bill Farrell) who had built 1930s in Gleggside before the war.

Ah, sorry - I have recently started a thread on RAF WK in the WW2 section. Did not know this was here.
